| Dragonflies Dance By Paul McCann
Between heaven and hell, where the dragonflies dwell, There’s a garden filled with colour and light . In a hovering way, they put on a disarming display And dance to the king of flight . Dressed in dewdrops of dawn, when the darkness has gone, see how distinguished are these debutantes . In the garden of the king, all the secrets you bring, can be shared when the dragonflies dance . So don't delay or dismay, at the end of the day , even dragonflies must fly away . And as dragonflies say, you can dance all the way- just be happy in a heavenly way .

If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly! By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me... And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight... Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair... bentfeather© |

DRAGONFLY Suncatcher, lighting on wire Screen. Space creature. Is it real? Tiffany might weep to see Those wings - clear, glassy membranes, Curved filaments, came-like veins. Four. Of independent means. State of the art, set to dart And dive at will. Versatile Aeronaut, zig-zag. Terror Of the skies, mosquitowise. Resting on a screen now, close To magnified gaze. Spindles, Rudder, swivel-knob head. Still Until disturbed, perhaps, by One enormous human eye. © Jackie H. Atkinson 1997 |

Dragonfly Dragonfly, dragonfly Take me up high To your little world Up in the sky
On your wings of blue I see a flicker of light That's all you need to see In the darkness of night
When you're tired Find a lantern on which to rest That's when your powers Will be put to the test
Span your wings Bathe in heat But please be careful Or you'll be a frog's dinner to eat |
