New associates will no longer receive their discount as of the date of hire. They will have to wait 90 days before they are eligible for a discount card. This just came down to us in personnel today. I was told it was done to help with retention. Yikes.... |

I kinda figured it was a matter of time too. It is going to be tough for people wanting an extra job to help with holiday expenses. Not too many seasonal people are going to want to come to Walmart if they have to wait 90 days to get the discount card. I just wonder how much longer we will get a discount at all. Maybe it will start with people hired after a specific date won't get a discount at all. :( |

its not fair at all...if oyu are working there you
should get the discount...why have to wait til 90 days after hire? target and
others give you that discount immediately...its not about retention as they
say....its about their bottom line...they took away the 90 day eval and possible
raise, now the discount for 3 months...that 10% in 3 months won't help keep new
employees, if anything it will turn them off....

Knew it was only a matter of time.
Now that I think about it though. A couple of people hired
a few months ago had said that they had went to buy something
and asked for a discount and they were told they couldn't get it
til they got their card. Said they CSM said they couldn't turn
the key for a new
hire. | | View other groups in this
