Last July, MSN shut WSAM down because of a cartoon on the Wall of Shame. There is a 72 hour period, (if you're lucky) before deletion. I was offline with monitor problems, so wasn't aware of it until the final hours. Jen talked them into giving the group back to us, but we had to remove pictures on The Wall of Shame. Although humorous, those pictures were Art... and the work of various members. They teased each other, while showing their talents. The group was full of laughter and interest. We were the number one group in the category of Artists. There is still laughter here, but the members are ever watchful of posting something that could get us deleted, so they aren't as spontaneous. I sat back and took a long look at what I had created and how easily it could disappear at the whim of MSN. A member contacted me and we discussed our options. A domain was bought and I went about the business of insuring, that we as a group would not be disbanded or censored. It took a couple of months for me to learn the ropes and get the boards set up. I would run thru WSAM to check on things and would see the members talking. Gotta tell ya it was lonesome over there by myself. One night, I penned my feelings about it and invite you to take a look. All Alone If you're not a member... join while you're there. |

switch, you are not alone in your thoughts about the longevity of wsam. this latest round of 'where's my page?' was a bit scarey, to me. i watched as things >Poofed< in front of my eyes! i honestly wasn't sure if i would end up standing in a white padded cell in the end! so, like all good citizens we should make plans, for when a disaster DOES STRIKE! come to the After Dark forum, WSAM's rascal child... where we really are the same people, but can express ourselves a little more freely. it's slightly different in the way we post, but after a few boo-boo's, things will click! besides... your friends are there to help you! and it's FREE!!! although hugs, kisses and the ocassional cheek pinch would be appreciated! i don't want to see the group as it stands today, get taken over by an ugly coup, because they aren't going to shuffle us and regroup.... we will be GONE! come to the forum, join ... is that so painful? or is trying to get let into a group that no longer exists the kind of pain you want? mahalo, Dee |

Jodie, you can CHANGE IT!!!! go up to EDIT PROFILE where you will find a listing of how things are set (as the default), but also where you can change them! look for this: Board Style: the default is blackblu... press the arrow and change to this ---> | <SELECT name=style><OPTION value=2>bcBlackBlu</OPTION><OPTION value=1 selected>subSilver</OPTION></SELECT> | you should find this easier on the eye! Hello Dee, I have similar problems with the forum. These are serious for me. The site fonts are IMPOSIABLE for me to see; too small. I am very surprised that you haven't found that a problem too. And I can't figure out how to make my message fonts larger so I can read them. Each time I try all I get is some weird html brackets and code instead of the color and font size changes. I just went to change that black background as directed and I found no..Edit Profile for the page, only my personal information profile and I am not near ready to go silver. Now to make changes.. Go to...Where? Orange |

orange, 1 - you can always enlarge the page, so the text is easier to read. (the 100% thing at the bottom left of your screen) 2 - and/or you can make the text larger for what you are typing, but not for reading others stuff. where it says 'Font size', there's a pull down menu... choose 'LARGE', but highlight the text first!. 3 - the reason you are getting all that code stuff? the forum uses BBCode, not HTML!!! but you don't need to run out and learn it, most of it is disabled in the forum... what does work, is offered. Take for instance, your colours... a limited number of basic colours are offered, just pull down the menu under 'Font colour'; however, you can add others. (use brackets [ ], instead of < > to enclose your code) ex: [color=##009966] type your text[/color] - remember, once you start something, you have to end it, especially if you are changing the color! i hope i didn't confuse you... go play, that's really the only way you'll get the hang of it!
