The Rolling Stones
This was years ago and a friend of mine (female) was working
a Stones concert(fla) for Wakenhut Security. She had been
placed on an area of the actual stage, sort of back of the band.
The way the area is set up, anybody going back stage has to pass
thru a hallway. This is also the way to the area, my friend was working.
The show hadn't started yet, so I was back there talking to her...
(OK.. we were in a dark corner making out.)
We hear voices, so we make ourselves as invisible as possible... (OK..
so I had to press her up against the wall, so both of us could be hidden
in the alcove.. at least that's I told her..lol) Both of us thought it
was her boss coming to check on her, so we were kinda sweating it.
But no... it was Mick... As luck would have it, he was with a girl and
they stopped right in front of us. I could have reached out my hand and
touched him, he was that close. Not that I would have... I'm not "that"
big a fan. The point is how close he was and we couldn't move.
After about 5 minutes, they turned to leave... but first he leaned his
head into the alcove, laughed at us for thinking he didn't see us and
then invited us to come back stage to a party, after the show.
I wish I could tell you word for word what he said, but his accent was so
thick, it was hard to understand. (at least for this country boy)
The show was fantastic and we were really excited about "Partying With The Stones."
It took the crowd over thirty minutes to exit the place and then she wanted
to change clothes. If you're a female you can understand that, although I
thought she was as cute as a button in her little uniform. Sorta like a
mini cop... lol
By the time we made our way back to the party area, an hour had passed.
The place was so crowded, you could hardly move. Media people, road crew,
it was a mad house. Just trying to squeeze thru the crowd to the bar they
had set up, was a real trip. Spilled half of our drinks, before I could get
make my way back to her.
We never did get to see the Stones. They were back in an area with a row of
security so thick, you couldn't actually see them. Ocassionally Mick would
grab a microphone and say something... but you couldn't make out what it was.
We were a little disappointed, because we had visions of "hanging out with Mick"
LOL( we were pretty young) Actually it was a press party, but we didn't realize
that at the time.. It was a unique experience and it was really pretty cool
how he let us know, that we weren't as hidden as we thought we were. It was
pretty obvious, what we were doing. (nothing X rated)
My one regret... no camera.
