You'll be pleased to here my 6 week old nephew is now in training to eventually help out on the request board....

Having such fun with him here although he's a 24 hour job.

His Mummy came back this afternoon ( I sent her off for 2 nights to a health spa for a bit of pampering as she has been suffering from baby blues and looked shattered!)

George has Down's Syndrome and needs additional help with feeding, which is every 2 hours night and day but he's a very happy baby. Claire ( Mummy) is looking and feeling sooo mch better... as for me... well that's me on the edge of the pic still in my PJs at 2.30 this afternoon, I cropped the face off cos it's too scarey!!!

They're both back home to see Daddy in Edinburgh, Scotland tomorrow an 8 hour drive for them!.... and I will probably sleep for a week!

Wow....PSP addiction is starting at an early age now....LOL!

That was very sweet of you to give his Mom a little break.

I used to be a special education teacher. I worked with Down's Syndrome children.

They are delightful, and some of them function at a very high learning level.

They require more work and effort to raise than a child without Down's Syndrome,

but they are well worth the effort!

I taught in a primary school here in the UK. We were one of the first new integrated schools ( SEN and mainstream combined) I was the SEN co-ordinator ... the one supossedly in charge of my special children. Loved them all to bits bt particlarly fond of the Down's Kids! Although George isn't a 'floppy baby' he seems to have probems with his tongue and sucking.... got a feeling he might need some speach therapy in the future but as long as he does his best with everything we will all be very very proud of him!

As for giving his Mm a break... bit selfish of me really... I wanted him all to myself

Loved having him with us and on day one would have given anything to keep him but after a cople more days the novelty began to wear off... As for Auntie Annie's chest.. plenty to go round and George is happyto share.

As they were leaving I accidently caught my toe on an old rocker we have and so spent a fair bit of time in A & E. Yep.. broken the darn thing and split the nail across the middle too.... certainly took my mind off what coud have been quite a sad goodbye.

Annie, he's a doll. They're such sweet and loving children. You're so very thoughtful. I've got the blues myself, but it's not the baby blues. I think all the stress that's happened has just finally got to me. I'll get better though. I went to the eye Dr. to get new contacts and glasses! He said my eyes were actually better, since I'd been on the diabetes medication and that's why I am having trouble seeing with these glasses! That was really great news! Love, Jin
