I saw something about this 6 months ago. Then couldn't find the web page again. Don't let them kid you. They've had it for awhile. They've also got something that projects a holographic of a plane and it shows up on radar as being there. Other uses for it, I'm sure.
... and I don't doubt that it's been around a while. They're likely just now getting to a point where they can 'declassify' the research enough to wow their peers with - probably in a push for the Nobel prizes that were recently announced although this wasn't a winner.
