My mothers mom was murdered by her father when she was at the age of ten. She had 5 other siblings at the time. 4 sisters and a brother. The youngest child was 2 at the time it happened. Well years later, when all the kids were grown up (and the only brother had passed away from a drug overdose), one of the sisters went home after work to check her message machine. On the machine was a voice saying: "Hi, It me Aline, your mom. I just wanted to call to make sure you and your sisters are ok. Your brother Louis is with me. I miss you all and love you." Then the message ended. My aunt states that it was in fact her mothers voice and that the voice sounded very very tired. My aunt was able to play the tape 3 or 4 times so all the sisters heard it, but then one day she went to listen to it and it had deleted itself. (pretty much right after the last sister heard the message) Do you believe in life after death? Do you believe that the dead can reach us if they try? What are your thoughts on this? |

I will be back to reply to this, but my answer is complicated to explain. I have company at the moment and need to be alone to gather my thoughts. |

yes I do believe that something similar to the dead can get in contact with the living. Have had dead relatives visit me in dreams concerned about other living people and when I follow it up, the living is indeed in some sort of trouble. I have found even if I cannot help that they are grateful to hear from me . |

Ivory I believe when a person's body wears out or is destroyed, their personality/awareness/soul, whatever you want to call it is still there. At least for awhile. Since they no longer have ears to hear or eyes to see, the only form of communication they have is feelings. I think this is why people can't feel their loved ones, after they die. They are grieving and the emotion isn't familiar to the one who is no longer there. So they don't recognize them. Our body runs on electrical like impluses. I don't think it would be so far fetched to believe, they might communicate with today's technology. My grandmother raised me. She was a very religious person. I use to love for her to tell me bible stories. She did it in her own way and was very expressive. I knew the stories by heart, but got her to do it.. just to hear her talk. Once I tape recorded her telling a couple of the stories. She thought she sounded ridiculous on tape. (most people do) After she died, I couldn't listen to the tape for awhile. One night I rode past her house and was so lonesome for her, I decided to listen to the tape. . I put it in the tape player in my car. At first, the sound was normal but about half way thru.. it speeded up. It sounded like someone was fast forwarding a tape. Tried it several times. I took the tape to a guy I know, that has a recording studio. He played it and it sounded speeded up to him, but the tape was moving at a regular speed. He tried recording it and slowing that tape down, but it didn't work. He was puzzled. He says that any tape can be slowed down, but not this one. I've shown the tape to other people with audio experience, but no one can figure out why the voice is speeded it up, but not the tape. It's been almost 15 years and I still want to hear her voice. |

Ivory...yes. Absolutely. This whole thread I started March 2006 from a similar experience. My dad was killed in a car crash, and he visited a friend of mine in a dream with a message for me. She had never met my dad, but she described him perfectly, and the words were his. I have had dreams of long gone friends...carried on whole conversations in such a real way that the whole time I knew I wasn't dreaming, just sort of in an altered state...I can't explain it well... But yes...I believe. |

speaking of dreams Just after my uncle had passed away of cancer, I had a dream of him sitting on the porch at grandmas house rocking in a rocking chair. In the dream, I was visiting with Grandma on the porch, and happened to look over (knowing that my uncle had passed away in my dream) and noticed him sitting in the rocking chair. I looked over at my grandma and told her that Roger was sitting beside me in the chair, and her response was " I know. He is here to keep me company and look after me". Yet we all knew he was passed on. I think it was his way of saying to me that he was with Grandma and that he was ok. It was a very vivid dream that I will never forget |

Please do not think I am showing any disrespect here hun cause that is not my intention but I am really confused by this sentence .. "My mothers mom was murdered by her father when she was at the age of ten" your mother's mum (being your granny) was murdered by "her" father (being your great granddad) I guess I am asking you to explain this .. if she had passed at ten years of age, how was your mother ever born? Maybe I've just not had enough coffee yet and am reading this incorrectly ... Either or, I very much believe that the dead can come to see us on our plain so to speak. This may seem like a silly story but after my grandfather's service we all went back to thier house for a gathering together. A few of my family members are smokers but we were never allowed to smoke in the house. They had a laundry room that was connected to the house and that connected to the garage. This is where we were allowed to puff our brains out ... Because my first born, Elliott was so young at the time (only 4 months old) if I needed a smoke, I would sneak out for only 1/2 at a time so as to not leave him in someone else's care for too long... During the course of that day, I had lit 3 smokes, putting each out at 1/2 and leaving them in the ashtray ... Each time I came back to finish said smoke, it was gone. I didn't want to upset my mum as that was her dad but had to mention this as it was playing on my head .. We moved the washer and dryer to see if many the ciggies had rolled onto the floor ... nope, nothing anywhere in that room. Funny thing is, when my grandfather was alive, he use to say to me, when you go for your smoke, leave me 1/2 ... I really want a puff but don't want your grandmother to know I'm still smoking lol ... so I would do that for him alot ... I was and still am utterly convinced that it was his way of letting me know that he was there with us ... I know it sounds silly to other people that this could happen but as I said it is what he would do all the time ... Whenever I miss him, which is often ... I picture him saying to my grandmother "Bet, (short for Bettie) I'm going for my walk to get my paper and knowing he had a pile of 1/2 smokes hidden somewhere on his person LOL !!! Also, when I am having a struggle of somekind I smell his cologne all around me, it literally fills my house and I feel two hands on my shoulders squeezing me ... he use to sneak up on me and do this to scare me when I was a kid lol .. He had such a great sense of humour and it's those little things that let me know he's ok where ever he is ... just my two cents |

lol @ Goth! I had to read that a couple times as well before it dawned on me what she meant! From what Sylvia Browne and John Edward say, spirit is energy very much like our electricity. Thats why they find it so easy to comminucate thru electricity. Also, because their "plane" is on a higher level opf vibrations than ours, they speak very fast....just like the Grandmothers voice in the tape. Here's a story to tell you how close we are to the Spirit World when we are born and havent yet been brain washed into believing differently. My 11 year old Grandson had never gotten to meet my Dad. When he was 4 years old, he had been playing in his room, talking to someone. He came into the livingroom, climbed up on my daughters' lap and asked her if she still had that button necklace. My daughter had put that thing away so many years ago that she had forgotten all about it....so there was no way she had showed it to her son or talked about it. Well, she asked: "Why are you asking?" He said "Because that man in my room told me about it". (When my daughter was ten years old, she sat on my Dads' lap and the two of them made a button necklace together!!!!) |

I've had alot of instances of communications after passover....and with pets too.It used to unverve me bcause I didn't know how to deal with it...now that I am older and really dont worry about it......I have not had any real communication for some time lol how ironic, although my premontions continue randomly...sometimes nice ones, most of the time warnings....I still ignore them at times and should know better. |

Ok wow, so much to add here. Yes, messages from the beyond are possible. And although I do not agree with, nor do I like, either Sylvia Brown or John Edwards, I can tell you they're on the right track with "Spirit energy is like electricity." Which is why batteries drain, lights flicker, and we get voices on tape. Our team has been donig a lot of work with ITC and RTC devices; these being Real Time Communication, and Instramental-Trans Communication. There's a lot of controversy over these devices, but things we've heard and seen with them cannot be explained. There have been many cases where deceased family has come across the line, cell phone, etc. |
