Here is an nteresting little tidbit. 25% of all income earned in the USA is earned by only 1% of the population. This situation has not been true since 1929. Back then we had rampant greed at one end of the social spectrum along with an ever growing poverty level at the other which was largely caused by the aforementioned greed. Do you remember what ultimately happened? Stock Market Crash.

The same things are true again today. Greed and poverty. Homeless people are everywhere. Cost of living out of comtrol. Now the Stock Market is weak to say the least. Lehman Brothers has been sold to English banks! Are we about to repeat history?

Oh and then Greenspan recently says we have a 50% chance of heading into a recesssion. What planet has he been vacationing on for the last year?

Trig, all I know is I'm working my skinny ass off to keep even... I chose not to work in the city because I would have to give up time comuting... I may need to rethink that now that in this economy... it may be the only way to make ends meet.

Slow, Are you in the US? I like this cyber travel thing and talking to people all over the US and in other countries. I think we are very lucky to do that. It's good to have friends all over the world.

I wish folks would put where they are so I would know where I am talking to.

I sure hope something gets fixed so you can stay where you're most happy. Maybe a job closer to home or moving your job to home, even if it paid a little less. Probably no need to act real fast. Moving a household usually cost a lot of money. Savings counts as much as earnings.

I don't know from day to day what is going to happen with the gas prices. I see it going up and down at the pump all the time. Just the other day one station was selling for a whole dollar less than the area. So how did he do that? Maybe he is a rebel and stole a gas truck?. So what are the other distributors doing? Someone needs to tell me why they can't lower their prices??

My sweetie owns a big rental house 25 miles from town and he has lowered his rent by fifty dollars per month. This may be another way to ease the hardships. Unfortunately, it hurts the on going repair funds and would need be raised again at another better time. Your landlord may conside that too.

Having read all your posts, I am proud of the way you've handled your fiscal life...and you put me to shame. Between mortgage, school debt (heluva lot of that), etc...I'm fooked at the moment. But not in the way that keeps me from posting...sigh...
