Nothing like the love of the gambler for his favorite casino--and yes, in this area, they are required to be boats with water surrounding them. Quaint, maybe? Medieval, more like it. When times get tough, we peasants "go to the boat." And in Missouri, our gambling laws have previously provided some protection for big spenders and losers--limits, or basements, on how much you can lose. That's about to change:
Prop. A supporters flood tv with commercials featuring teachers of the year, schoolboard members, beloved favorite etc..bc this proposition will grant over 100 million in monies for the schools of our state. Great!
CAVEAT: This law will remove the limits of what you can lose. No more basements. Neighboring states have done this and the bankruptcy due to gambling soared. Let's be poetic if we're going to be sad: soar'd.
My feeling is that--more school money, super!but it's super hard for kids to learn if mom/dad/grandma keeps having to move and work 3 extra jobs to get another car, etc. Or--is it better to keep the freedom and money?
QUESTION FOR THE CROWD: Which, for a lawless society, should it be? No pressure !
