It has occurred to me that this site is providing an invaluable barter service which cuts out all the middlemen, including the inland revenue. Instead of struggling to get poems published,at one's own expense, one is exchanging poems and comments at a great profit. Reminds me of a London street I read about where the residents exchange services, legal, plumbing, building, carpentry, etc, eliminating the middlemen and the inland revenue. The name of the street will remain stricly anonymous. |

On a more serious note, since posting the above comment, I've visited the other place and read your comments there, Philip. I think that it's absolutely disgusting that we have to pay an absolute fortune to have poetry published! I stopped sending poems away ages ago. Why bother with all of that when we have a great forum like this one? After all, it's a place where we can send our poems in for free and interact with the other contributors. I like reading the poems here - and the banter that comes with them, too. You don't get banter in a book... ...well, not yet, anyway... |

Thank you for your comments! It's good to belong to a poetry community in which making friends takes precedence over money and popularity. Thank you,Zydha, and everyone here, for this priceless forum. |
