Ever had the courage to say you are sorry?
Ever had the courage to laugh at yourself?
Ever had the courage to make the story happy when it's been sad?
Ever had the courage to just sing?
****
You need to say sorry,
You need to laugh at yourself,
You need to make the story a happy one,
You need to sing.
****
It's hard to do these things,
But there's courage in your heart,
And in your eyes,
And it matters, yes, it matters.

Wise words Katie, we all need to be able to do this. Saying sorry can be one of the hardest things - admitting that you are not always right. - I like to look at this poem as one detailing how we all can have failings and weakness and having the courage to stand up and admit it. Emma |

Wise words indeed, Katy, how easy it should be to say those two words. When one is in a very long term marriage relationship, one has to learn compromise of opinions and ideas, especially if one or both parties are at all headstrong...and children should only enhance the need of a similar compromise when we play the self-ritious and opinionated. I don't think it's a words used as much as it used to be, even down to people bumping into you in the street or a store, without emotional complications, nicely composed, Zy |

Nice one Katy...poetry has always lent itself well to the propagation of the good old basic values...this is done well here. A good clear message.
