swoop-me-down in shantytown
a space ?you’d want to disappear
from
a place ?they ripped your tears from
where you hate yourself for not being fear-some

you hate ?or you’re hated
you sate ?or you’re sated
this stuff fate ?is underrated
soon as you think it ?your thoughts are dated

you cannot know what you do not
it’s so easy to just get hot
and lose the love meant in meanings
forgive me ?i was just dreaming
for you

i must believe ?in tomorrow
through pain ?poverty ?and crippling sorrow
with you
if you’ll let me
though i know - you’ll forget me
since
i am no one ?and i know it
i pray you’ll remember and please show it

it’s the broke ones
that really matter
the rest is chaff ?or data scatter
like me
i have no meaning
though reaching out ?is my leaning
to lend a hand to the shabby
to the frail and thin ?i am their abbey
as they walk death’s wide chasm
i view a world through grand prism

forgive me please ?i lost my feeling
i meant no harm ?my brain’s just fleeting
if you’ll forgive me ?i’ll disappear
but please do not lose what i hold dear

It’s about them ?not you or me
the meek ?the weak ?the travesty
of power’s greed over worthy humans
rainbow hearts ?pumpin?albumin

so swoop-me-down in shantytown
a space ?i’ll disappear
from
a place ?i’ve ripped my tears from
where i love i’ll not be fearsome

best,
m

You really do go back there a lot, Mikhail, one can understand how it has got to you when you have seen the things you have. A wishing, wanting thought, and a heartfelt one.

The rhythm of this one had me in places, but then I think of you reading it and strangly, it falls into place, Zy

thanks Zy

you are right - my feelings for the poor are strong

i only wish to raise awareness - create empathy - and get others to never forget them

thanks for taking the time to read and comment on this one Zy,
m

Gripping poem Mikhail!  I too have empathy and feel for the poor and hungry.  I am surrounded by them here in Midtown Atlanta and the homeless too.
