Inspired by ~ Peter's Story

Sweet velvet darkness
Distortion of dreams,
Damning in nitemares
Of what memory means.

"Who was that ~ in shadows there
to build the past without a care?"

Dark liquid absorbing
Of obsidian Seas,
Washing the sinners
From moments like these.

"They leave their burning, carving scars
Within our windows ~ closed by bars"

Flowers and moonbeams
Sweet songs of sun,
Escape us in childhood
Where wrong deeds are done.

"Let flow free the sadness dreams
For love diverts the 'badness' streams"

We all must have our share of
Smiles and loving, and of care,
What purpose is the point of hate
When we must make the best of 'fate'.

"I have dreamed a million rainbows,
Been amazed at where the pain goes"

There is a land for childrens souls
Hidden there ~ they laugh and sing,
Within us all, we have our future,
We have ourselves ~ to ~ freedom bring.

Hy Stella, after reading Peter's Story, these words just flowed free.....

funny how the muse reacts spontaniously,

almost with a will of it's own, thanks, 'night, Zy

Such a fine poem!  I know what it is to live in fantasy to escape the present.

Thanks everyone for your kind replies, I had thought of posting something of a similar nature to Peter's, but instead...these words just gushed out, so I leave it at that, as I too had a troubled childhood, not too good teen years... and still have some problems today which I have little control over externally, but...

I am a great believer in the strength of the 'self' within us taking charge and helping us through such times. Child or adult...there is not always someone to go to, but we always have our 'selfs' as the one positive dependency to use to rationalise, fight and win over the failings of others. Not always the easiest of tasks, but one I have found pays dividends once mastered,  Zy

No...you read right, Peter, and one of them stays with me till the grave, lol, that one I have learned to accept as others problems and not mine anymore .

I thank you for the inspiration of this piece, Peter, for I read yours last night and this flowed free, methinks you touched a nerve, My Friend, but this is how I compartmentise such thoughts and memories,  Zy x

Yes teen years horrid too!  Being shy (can you believe it now?  lol); low self-esteem, no friends, no dates, no Prom!  Wahhhh.....Now I would like to go back as who I am now and show them all lol.
