Sunlight caught in the puddles
of a spring shower
Damp and reflective
I watch her move
gazelle like
across the distance
of my hypometropic gaze
She moves nearer
to alter my focus
and I wonder at the beauty of her face
But it is not I she smiles for
For am I am a bystander
She locks in the embrace of a young man nearby
Spoiling the view
and the thoughts.
