I saw a movement

Late last night

As dancing shadows

Gave me such a fright!

 

A man stood there

Just watching me.

From my study window,

He was plain to see.

 

Dressed in black

Standing under the streetlight,

He was a sinister figure

In the darkness last night.

 

But I saw the truth

As it got light.

It was a pair of trousers

That gave me such a fright!
