Nice n?Neat

I’d rather an enemy I can respect
than a friend I can’t trust.

There used to be a lot of discussion
about wounding instead of killing -
that way you have one man down and one man occupied looking after the casualty -
thereby slowing down and limiting
the capacity of the force you are up against.
Personally I think this kind of philosophy
is a load of crap.
If you are going to shoot a man then kill him,
one in the chest to bring him down
and one in the head
to finish him off -
all crisp and clean. Keep it neat.
Knives are a different matter - only James Bond
can kill a sentry silently. Sneaking up behind them
is almost impossible in itself, I mean, these are ‘sentries?right ?
And if you do manage to get one hand over his mouth
and the sharp side of your bayonet against his juggular
don’t think that one smooth cut will be enough.
It takes a man almost twenty minutes to die
from a bleeding neck wound.
He will struggle and shout if you let him.
So what you do is use either
a sawing motion untill his head is almost seperated from his torso or you stab him repeatedly in the Adam’s apple untill he goes limp.
Then you hold him on the ground untill dead.
A stab to the heart will always speed up this process.

I prefer the latter method. Because it’s nice n?neat.

wow! lb...I meant to read this again before now, but then forgot it was in 'here'.

This is a good spot for such as this, as it took more than one read to get into the mood of the piece. Having read it yet again, I found it most entertaining (gosh...what does that say about an older gran? lol) It is cold in narration, it is calculated in attitude to such an act...and the title is the icing on the cake.

Why don't you repost this in a perfect layout...I am certain you didn't mean for the extended lines to remain. I can lift my reply and then delete for you, as you know.

An original read, Zed
