I am using Windows Media Player, I don't know about any others.
So far, I have posted a number of poems successfully, but only if under 1,000mgz.
Obviously, I have deleted them as you'd get sick of me and I was only testing.

1...Open recording box and place at bottom of screen so you can open the poem file.
2...Now open the recording box again and select Properties from Tools.
3...Now select 11.000mgz and click ok.
4...Start recording, you can repeat again and again until happy within the same box.
5...Once satisfied, Save As 'file name' and take a look at Audio file to check its size.
6...Now open a New Discussion and click on the Browser. Select file and click Attach This File.
7...The reply box should then show the file name and wav at the top right hand side outside of the box.
8...Type title and message and click Send Message. This should take around 30 seconds or so.

Good Luck and Have Fun, Zy

Yikes, I have just found out the 'Sound Recorder' icon I click on for the little box which allows you to choose sizes etc is not actually Windows Media Player....that is what 'plays' the recordings when opened from files

It is 'Microsoft 'Sound Recorder'...it carries the Windows logo on it, so is probably available to download online, but I can't remember how I got it.

Apparently the file I tried to load is too large. The limit is 1 MB and my file was 10 MB.

Hy Pip....most of the poems I have been playing around with have come up at around 350 to 450ish kb, and thats up to three four lined (8 syllabled) stanzas.

That's recording with 11,000kHz mono....it has given the clearest recording, with a smallish file size, and loaded each time without any difficult (using Sound Recorder facilities). What are you using, as Tony is not having much success with attaching his file, yet can post on another board.

Great to see you have posted already though, Zy

hi

To reduce the file size, which was preventing me from posting, I did the following in Sound Recording (programs/Accessories/entertainment):

1. Recorded the poem.

2, Clicked on file

3. Clicked on properties

4. Clicked on convert now

5. This will bring up various options to record on: my last poem uses PCM 11025 khz 8 bit mono.

hope this helps

cheers

This may be of use and once you have read my instructions,

make sure you catch Pip's great tip for condensing file size further down this thread, Zy
