1 Minute Chocolate Fudge Frosting
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. oleo
1/4 c. milk
2 heaping tbsp. cocoa

Bring all ingredients to a boil. Boil 1 minute by the clock. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla; cool by stirring.

7 Minute Frosting
1 1/2 c Sugar
1/3 c -water
1/4 t Salt
2 Egg whites
1 1/2 t Light corn syrup
1 t Vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients, except vanilla a double boiler. Beat about 1 minute.
Place over boiling water and beat constantly with beater for 7 minutes, or until frosting will stand in stiff peaks. (Stir frosting up from bottom of pan occasionally.) Remove from over water and add vanilla. Beat until of proper spreading consistency. Makes 5 1/3 cups

Cream Cheese-Pecan Frosting #1
8 oz. cream cheese softened
4 tbsp. butter
2 cup icing sugar
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Combine all ingredients except pecans. Beat until smooth. Spread cake layers with frosting, then pecans.

Cream Cheese-Pecan Frosting #2
Cream together:
1 8-oz package cream cheese, softened
4 tbsps. softened butter or margarine
Beat in:
1 tsp. vanilla, dash of salt
Gradually add:
2 1/2 cups sifted, powdered sugar;
Blend in well.
Stir in 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Lemon Butter Icing
3 tbsp. soft butter or marg.
1 1/2 cup sifted  icing sugar
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
3/4 tsp grated lemon rind
1 tbsp. water approx.
Combine all ingredients. Blend

Sheet Cake Frosting
Boil:
1 stick margarine
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp.  milk
Add 1 lb. powdered sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla Frost while hot.

Jello Seven-Minute Frosting
Add color to a birthday cake with Jello!
31/2 tbsp. Jello (any flavour)
1/2 cup hot water
1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 egg whites unbeaten
dash of salt
Dissolve Jello in water in top of double boiler. Add sugar, egg whites and salt. Beat mixture for about one minute with rotary or electric beater until well mixed. Place over rapidly boiling water. Beat constantly about 7 minutes or until frosting stands up in peaks. Transfer to another bowl and beat about one minutes or until thick enough to spread.

Fresh Orange Icing
3 cups icing sugar
3 tbsps. orange juice
1/3  cup butter
1 1/2 tbsps. orange rind
Beat well.

Never Fail Caramel Frosting
Excellent on spice cakes or on boiled raisin cake.
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
3/4 cup cream
2 tsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Add sugar, cream and butter in a heavy saucepan. Stir until dissolved. Boil over low heat until soft ball stage. Cool slightly. Add vanilla and beat until creamy. Frost cake immediately.

Broiled Coconut Frosting
How to make something special out of a plain white cake.
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup shredded or flaked coconut
Combine all ingredients. Spread evenly over cake. Broil 3 to 5 minutes until frosting becomes bubbly. Cake may be served warm or cold.

Confectioners Sugar Glaze
2 tablespoons hot water, or milk or light cream
1/4 teaspoon vanilla, lemon, or other extracts, or 1 teaspoon lemon juice or rum
1 cup confectioners sugar
Stir the liquid into the sugar, adding more, a few drops at a time. The icing is of the proper consistency when it coats the spoon.

Chocolate Icing
1 square of chocolate, unsweetened
6 tablespoons boiling water
1/3 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups confectioners sugar
Melt chocolate in top of double boiler, add boiling water and stir until smooth; add vanilla and the sugar; stir until mixture is smooth. Or dissolve 1/3 cup cocoa in boiling water. A little cinnamon may be added.

Coffee or Mocha Icing
3 tablespoons hot strong coffee
3 tablespoons dry cocoa
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/3 cups confectioners sugar
Add coffee to cocoa, stir until smooth, add vanilla and enough sugar to reach spreading consistency

grated rind of 1 orange
Add yolk to sugar, mix well; add the rest.

Fruit Juice Icing
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh fruit juice
1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
Add lemon juice and strained fruit juice (strawberries, cherries or grapes) to the sugar, a little at a time, until thin enough to spread.
