Dhananjay Barman, son of Dabaru Barman, first saw a part of the relic and tried to dig it up with the help of the local people, who extended support to him enthusiastically to retrieve the temple relics safely, said Dr Dutta.
The conscious people of the locality want that such cultural artefacts should be preserved with due care at public places for proper study.
