Poor thing!!! What does your doc say? What about ice cream? My husband's doctor told him that milk will coat his heartburn - although milk also causes heartburn. :/ |

You know come to think of it I didn't have it as much when I was hogging down the ice cream. I stopped doing that. I need to make a grocery list lol |

its different for everyone. I get heartburn when I don't eat, it's like morning sickness for me. As long as I'm always nibbling a little, I don't get it. Tums doesn't do me a whole lot of good. It's such a weird heartburn, unlike anything I've ever experienced. I have to say though, I was the opposite of breeze, had heartburn a lot before pregnancy, and during pregnancy, but not since.
(and the old wives tale says if you have heartburn, your baby will have lots of hair. was true for Josie, anyway) |

I know, we could have anything from dark brown, dirty blonde to white blonde, auburn, strawberry or orange hair. Thick, curly, straight, thin, it'll be pretty amazing to see what comes up. |

Chewing gum will help heart burn. You create extra salvia when you chew gum and somehow that helps. I had really heart burn with both my boys. Back in the olden days, they didn't want you to take tums or rolaids, so I survived on sips of cold milk and chewing gum. I've had heart burn ever since and gum really helps me. Avoid strong mints gums tho. |

gum, that's a good idea Dede.
I never release gas or burps in front of people normally, even at home, but yeah, now they just slip out without warning, I hate it, but what are ya gonna do? |

My heartburn has gotten better. I still need my Tums but not as badly as before. I randomly hiccup. Just one hiccup. And it's loud. |

I didn't even SEE this board till today I'm the same as a few others. I didn't know what heartburn WAS until I got pregnant with my daughter. Boy, was I a fast learner . Only the heartburn didn't go away until YEARS after she was born. I blame my rocky marriage for the continued heartburn...as soon as we split up and my stress level dropped, my heartburn went away for YEARS...then once life became more stressful (new husband deployed, longer, stessful hours at work) the heartburn came back. I'm still early in this pregnancy (14 weeks) so the heartburn now is still stress-related, although the pregnancy makes the heartburn WAY worse. But I got a fun little bonus with this pregnancy. You know how every pregnancy it seems like there's that ONE food you just CAN'T stand? The look of, the smell of, the taste of...just THINKING about it puts you one second from running to the bathroom? For me last pregnancy it was eggs. This time? Antacid tablets. Cruel, cruel pregnancy. THANKFULLY Rolaids started making these chews that taste NOTHING like the antacid tablets. They aren't great, but I can tolerate them. In fact, I don't know what I'd do without them. |
