Hello Joel:
I quit smoking on May 6 of this year. That’s only been almost 2 months but for me that’s been a big effort/accomplishment. Since the nicotine should be out of my system by now, why then, do I still crave cigarettes? I seem to crave them only when I’m either stressed or in a partying mood. I know that these were times when, by habit, I would smoke, but there are other times/habits that I had like smoking after a meal and smoking when I was in the car. I don’t have these cravings and I don’t get tempted when I see other people smoke. I would like to be free from the temptation of smoking. Will these cravings ever go away? What can I do to counter them? I’m really afraid to go back to smoking on a weak moment. Can you recommend any books to read about this matter?
Thank you,
Julie
