According to the Edgar Cayce material Jesus Christ was only one of quite a few incarnations of the Christ spirit in our world. The others include:
Adam
Melchizedek who had no beginning and no end
Joseph who was sold as a slave by his greedy brothers
Joshua who was with Moses and the Hebrews during the Exodus
Cayce said the Egyptian god Thoth was a reincarnation of 'The Word'. I'm not sure if Cayce meant Christ and Thoth are the same being.
The Cayce material fills in some information about Christ's 'missing years' which are not mentioned in the bible. He said Jesus and his cousin John the Baptist travelled to India and Egypt if I recall correctly. Also Jesus was initiated into the Egyptian mysteries after which time he broke the lid of the coffer inside the Great Pyramid to symbolize His victory over death.
Isis and the virgin Mary are the same person I think. She is Eve who was created by dividing Adam's soul. Thus she is a twin soul of God Himself.
Perhaps those three magi were Zeus and some of those others who knows. Some of those gods were present on that very first Christmas day.
Cayce also said one of the Essene women tried to 'trick' the psycopath Herod by telling the magi to go and talk with him. This reckless act almost caused the death of the Christ child and forced the holy family to flee to Egypt.
So we see there are mystical relationships between mythology, Christianity, and the bible that many people today do not understand or accept.
