 Full Moon Meditation

Meditation is a potent method of service to humanity when the mind is used as a channel for the reception of the energies of light and love and the will-to-good and their direction into human consciousness. And the moment of the full moon each month offers the greatest opportunity for meditation - particularly in group formation - to be used as a means of cooperation with the divine Plan or Intention for our world. One may ask, what has the moon got to do with it? The energies of light and love and the will-to-good are always available to those who can contact them in meditation. But in all aspects of our planetary life there are cycles in the ebb and flow of spiritual energies with which groups, as well as individuals, can consciously cooperate. One of the major energy cycles coincides with the phases of the moon, reaching its peak, its high tide, at the time of the full moon. This is a time, therefore, when the channelling of energy through group meditation can be uniquely effective.

The moon itself has no influence on the work; but the fully-lighted orb of the moon indicates a free and unimpeded alignment between our planet and the sun, the solar centre, the energy source for all life on Earth. At such times we can make a definite approach to God, the Creator, the centre of life and intelligence. That this realization is part of humanity's ancient intuitive understanding is verified by the many religious festivals which are fixed by reference to the moon or a zodiacal constellation. The esoteric Law of Cycles - the law which is symbolized by the waxing of the moon to full brightness followed by its waning - affirms that we can consciously cooperate with the flow of spiritual energies.

Direction:

In the energies of the full moon, find a spot in your sacred space where you can watch the sky and the full moon. You may light three white candles on your sacred altar and turn off the lights. Play some relaxing, mysterious, spiritually harmonious, mystical music.

Do a breathing or relaxation exercise.

Move softly to the rhythm of the music you selected, until you feel deeply relaxed. Once you are ready and have relaxed all your muscles, you can get started. Sit comfortably, in the lotus position if you wish.

First, stare at the full moon for a few minutes. Focus on your feelings and thoughts as you stare at the moon. You may see and hear things beyond your imagination, some beyond your ability to manifest into thought-forms which make no sense to your mind, yet are connecting with your genetic encoding, to awaken and activate.

Once you feel you have gazed long enough, close your eyes. You will probably still see an afterimage of the moon in your mind's eye. Imagine there is a ray of light coming from the moon towards you. The light enters the top of your head and travels through your body, bathing it in light.

Once you feel the light energy of the moon enter your body, visualize the white light of the moon as a spiral, penetrating and protecting the room where you are now sitting.

Once you have finished the meditation, thank the moon for Her power and Her love, and for the experience She granted you. Breathe in deeply three times and slowly open your eyes. Look at the full moon and repeat your thanks. You may then make a wish for the coming month.

You can repeat it every day during the three days of the full moon. You can also do it during the waning moon.

This is a good time for creativity. Your body becomes altered and excited more readily than at other times of the month.

Let the moon, that Great Goddess, bless and protect your love.

Enjoy your journey!

The relationship between the earth and the moon is interesting.

The moon keeps the earth orientated correctly on its axis I think I heard.

Because both the moon and the earth are rotating themselves and the moon revolves around the earth we always see the same side of the moon facing us. The two bodies are somehow synchronized in this way.

There are various theories about how the moon was formed or captured by the earth.

One is that a proto planet about the size of mars collided with the primordial earth and broke off a big piece which eventually became the moon.

Another is the earth's gravity captured the moon somehow.

But who knows what theory is correct if any. This all happened literally billions of years ago.
