Paul........hope you are well and not working too hard......are you getting anything from the boys...........I do believe they are pretty much settled in........Could you find out from Cowboy if my slow patient way of working with him is the way to go.... this boy seems to have problems with me being the one in control , especialy if I am holding him by his halter/lead. Other than that both boys in their own way are real sweeties.
We had a cold cold day here but the boys seem to realy be having fun so my daughter decided it would be a good picture day. You know young boys playing in the snow. Well they were just so nosy about the camera that they didn't move much. When Jenny let out a whinny from the barn that started them going sooooooooo Anna thought well why not give it a try .So there she is trying to whinny and nicker , but ya know it worked..
Here is Cowboy........can you see him
Here he is
 So who's the boss
and racing for the barn
I'll bet you are wondering who won eh?  Nobody did ................they never made it to the barn
It was a sharp left at the door and a quick chat with Freebie.
Anna couldn't take the picture because her finger was frozen   LOLa
Hugs
Erica

Those two are quite a pair. Trying to talk to either of them invites comments from teh other one.
Cowboy is stubborn, wants to be in control, but his brother says that you are doing things right so I would continue.
I get the sense that both are quite at home and quite comfortable but they may not let on to you as much as I.

Thanks Paul..............Moogie is quite the charactor as well, nosy , loves to be cuddled, kisses on the nose and trying to steal your gloves, or anything else he can get his mouth on, but much more accepting of what is expected of him. Cowboy also loves his kisses but if he gets the idea that I am holding him , well thats a different story. I just hold on till he settles then release. After that he follows me around like a little puppy, of course the next time could be the same although the fighting/struggle doesn't last as long anymore.
We sure do love them and enjoy working/watching them. Freebie enjoys eating hay with them, on the other side of the fence so we always make sure to put some down .
Jenny {mini mare} has been confined to rest in Moogie's room/stall because she has foundered slightly, {her feet are sore from being to heavy}. She is insulin resistant so I have to really watch what she eats from now on and she does love to eat . Poor baby.....I keep telling her its for her own good and she is sweet about the whole thing. She is on the boys side and they are in and out all day so she isn't alone , alone.
Bellee , the donkey thinks she would like to be with the boys sometimes but I tell her she is wrong, they would just drive her crazy wanting to play. They had a donkey where they were born and just loved playing with him.
Any way Paul I am rambling , Thanks again
Blessings
Erica

   Ramble anytime.
When I finished your note, I closed my eyes and let my senses wander to be with your family. It was amazing  - I could see the barn and your family were all there. I was seeing each of them as a glowing ball of light, soft golden light. I could sense all of them plus some smaller glows in the building, cats perhaps? There was such a sense/feeling of love/affection present. Love and affection for all. A happy group.

Thank you so very much for your insight Paul...............it does my heart good to know that my barn is filled with love/affection.  I just had to have one of my darling barn kitties put down as she was so very sick. I tried so hard to help her but as usual for the barn cats she waited too long to seek my help. We did spend some very special time together and I was with her at the end.  The vet felt that is what Alberta wanted, she could barely move and yet kept turning herself to where she could look at me and she needed me to hold her paw or at least she held my finger and would get agitated if I moved my hand away.
There is only one kitten left in my barn and 4 adults {feral females} Little Ricky has become my friend and tries to stop me from leaving the barn by holding my hand or my leg. I feel so bad when I have to go back to the house. He is starting to get this darn cold {upper respitory} I surely do love all the cats in the barn , and do believe they know it. It breaks my heart each time I lose one but I feel that their spirits all visit me . The day after Alberta passed I heard HER purr in that special way she had.
Thanks for taking the time to listen to my rambles and understanding.
Blessings
Erica
