~Developing Abilities~
One of the most frequent questions asked of us
pertains to developing your own abilities. As much as we'd like to be able to give you a one stop, step by step guide, there are many variables involved. That means that each
individual must take the time to learn what works for them and what doesn't.
One of the very first things that we
recommend that anyone do is to gain KNOWLEDGE. With Knowledge comes understanding, and with understanding, comes power. The first step in developing then, is to READ! There are a tremendous number of books available on the market and in libraries concerning the Paranormal, Psychic Ability, Mediumship, Tarot Cards and anything else that you wish to know about to do with the Paranormal. Get moving and get those books!
Secondly, OBSERVE! Join us in the chatroom where you can watch readers doing readings. As they are reading, try to sense what you,
yourself are getting during a reading. You may find yourself pleasantly surprised that you, yourself have picked up on many of the same things that the reader is picking up!
Thirdly, GET TO KNOW YOUR OWN SIGNS/SYMBOLS AS WELL AS HOW YOU RECEIVE BEST! No two readers read alike. We all receive things differently. Most of what we get is symbolic. We may see a teddy
bear that could be symbolic of the person's personality, or, it could be a literal, physical teddy bear! Find out
what symbols mean to you.
One of the very best ways to start learning about your own receiving methods and symbols, is to simply
observe your own thoughts! When something seems out of the ordinary (not something that you would normally think of), write it down! A journal can be of tremendous help with this. An ordinary notebook
is all that's required. As these thoughts come in... write them down! Then, wait, watch and listen for events in your everyday life that corresponds to these entries. When one has occured...mark it down in detail beside your journal entry. By doing this, you will begin to see patterns emerge which allows you to see how you, yourself receive. (These could come in the form
of "hearing", "seeing", "feelings". Learn which ones you receive most and pay particular attention to those from here on out. Most people will find a mixture of all of the above with a concentration on one more than the others.
Last, but not least...PRACTICE! You can't develop without practising! No matter how afraid you are of not being perfect, or of making a mistake, or of being embarrassed, you must use it or you won't
develop! That means that you may have to grab a trusted friend in here or at home/work and simply TRY! Just make sure that you tell that person that you are "only learning" and I'm sure that you'll find a willing participant who won't judge! There are so many people in here that would be more than willing to be a guinea pig for your trials!
Have patience with yourself! This is not a parlor game nor, will it come overnight. It takes time, patience and effort to learn and develop! Any questions that you have we can do our best to answer for you. Simply
