Hello,

Can anyone tell me what I can do to help my dog calm down when rainy or stormy weather is approaching?  "Mindy" goes nuts several hours before the weather moves in.  I know animals sense barometer changes among other things, and I've heard of dogs' behavior changing like this.  She is about 40 pounds and almost 9 years old.

The poor thing pants like she's been in a 10-mile race and paces constantly; she follows us everywhere right under our heels and at night she stands up to my side of the bed and smacks me with her paw.  I almost have to sleep with her under our bed!  Once the storm is past or almost done, she is back to normal, but the whole experience can take several hours.

Thanks, DeniseNH

One of our dogs, Wolfgang is also afraid of storms and my wife used some massage techniques that she learned and t-touth techniques to help him to deal with this problem.

Denise,
That should have been "t-touch" techniques.
