Thanks for your thoughts, Choice. I always find it interesting to hear viewpoints on the old Fate versus Free Will question.
For me personally, I have found in my practice of horary (divination of the answer to a question) that there is certainly a strong element of Fate, or I would not be able to divine the future.
That said, horary divines only the near immediate future, so I have always likened this "destiny" to being only as far as a flashlight will shine down the road. The path is already illuminated, directly ahead, by bricks laid through the virtue of choices we have already made. Therefore, one's "fate" has a strong likelihood of unfolding in a foreseeable way. (This is why intuitives and psychics can make predictions.)
The darkened path, beyond the reach of the flashlight, is still being formed by the choices we make today. This is our Free Will. This is not easily foreseen, because their are multiple choices we could make, thus multiple ways the more distant future could unfold.
Now the interesting thing I am finding in my practice, is that the near immediate future is shortening .... charts that used to be valid for 3-6 months, are now only valid for 1-3 months, for example. To me this is showing that humankind is gaining more control over their own lives, becoming more masterful at creating their own destinies. They are harnessing the power of intention and the ability to create their own reality.
In other words, they are consciously using their own Free Will.
