Wow, ok I just finished the above book which is the 2nd book of a trilogy. Book #1 is Armageddon's Children which I also listed on this board. I found out that book #3 was just released in August 2008 so that'll be on my reading list this year. I would have to say that this trilogy is pretty darn good and I also found out that Terry Brooks wrote one of the Star Wars stories.
The Knights of the Word (Logan and Angel) have worked almost to the death to protect the Gypsy Morph (Hawk) and the elves (Simralin & Kirisin). Hawk and the elves are the chosen ones to bring what's left of the human & elfen races to safety to begin anew in the world, and the demons are still on their tails every turn of the page to stop and destroy them.
Logan torments himself after letting Hawk fall from the tower, but not being able to discover his body leaves everyone to wonder if he was somehow still alive - but where/how? Logan, dangerously hurt in battle & being cared for by Hawk's family & lays unconscious on the brink of death by poison.
Angel also surprised me by remaining alive after her battle over the elves but I feel she is walking right into another trap in the mountain caves that I'm not sure she'll come out of. The elves traiter also surprised me (as it did Kirisin & Simralin), as it was definitely not who I thought it would be. The traiter and elves remain alone in the caves & Angel groping her way up the mountain to them - everyone unaware of how the other fares, yet each stuck in their dangerous situations with nowhere to turn.
