This card signifies "ancestry". It makes us look at who we are, where we came from and what family traits we may have inherited. It may be a time to figure out what parts of us need to be shed and which relationships need to be severed if there are any that cause us grief or bring negative influences into our lives. This is also a card that denotes receiving something into our lives, but having to give something else up in order to receive it. While it can be difficult to give up one thing in order to gain another, sometimes, it's to our advantage to learn to "let go". This may mean that you have to give up a certain behavior or some part of your lifestyle. It may also mean that you have to give up some part of your old beliefs or your family's beliefs...whatever it is, it's the willingess to let go of these things in order to gain in another area of your life that makes this become truly a gain. Sometimes, it's a matter of deciding that by letting go of the old, you may also benefit others around you, including your family. Sometimes, old, outdated ways of doing things are more harmful to the family or those around you than anything else and by letting go of that, being brave and taking a step forward to benefit your life, you may also bring others forward with you as well, thereby, benefitting them too. |
