I accept that there is alot of symbology in dreams, but dream symbology does not have to be general, dreams do not have to be a jumble of unrealted imagery. By spending time in your waking life meditating on your dream time, by asking for specific dreams, symbols that are specific to you, even contaact with mentors, guides or people who have passed over , you can take control of your dream time, You can use you dream life to gain insights and answers and to make contacts that will improve the quality of your waking life.

An example of this...my daughter and i are both vivid dreamers and both have our share of precognitive dreams. When we have something important to work on, we join forces to try to obtain a positive result. We were living in the outback and planning to move down to the coast. We couldnt leave town for the time being, so my husband had to go house hunting. Understandably we were nervous that his choice of house may not be our choice of house. We got together and worked on dreaming up our future home. I was looking at houses on the internet and telling my husband which ones to go for. None so far were pleasing. My daughter dreamt our house had red roof tiles, bungalow doors and that all the doors had been changes so that they opened the oposite way. I dreamt the house had glass in the door way , roof tiles and round door handles on bungalow doors, the odd part was i dreamt my sister and i were painting the hall and odd yellow, as the paint rolled off the brush it was filled with waves of light yellow and white. The laundry in my dream house was also large.

We got a call to say my husband had found a house he thought was right, it had not been put on the net because it had only just come on the market, i told him to get my sister to look, if she approved i approved because she would know what i  liked. She loved it, so the deal was done. It was still weeks before we got to see it. By then we had all but put our dreams to the back of our minds. We moved in, it was a 1924 bungalow, with bungalow doors and round door handles, the doors had all been taken off and made to open the opposite way, the old latches and light switches were still in place. There was glass at the front entrance and red roof tiles on the roof. One day i was dusting, the light in the hall hadnt been cleaned in years by the look of it. After it was done i got down and turned it on to admire my work, suddenly the walls were swimming in yellow and white waves, just like the pattern i was painting in my dreams, for a split second i was transported back to the middle of that dream, and now when i turn on that light i get an amazing sense of peace...but also well being, knowing just how powerful dreams can be when we take the time to make them work for us.

Hi Mysticeyeofawolf
Thank you for replying to my post. Dreams are so many things and so important in life, i am still amazed at how they are treated as something mystical or somewhat like a fairy tale. Most of us will sit and listen to someone elses dream story, if it is quick and more often if it is funny, but rarely do people look into dreams for symbols that may guide them forward. I have never had a problem remembering my dreams and as a child dreams were the starting point for many OBE"s which i still remember vividly, i still have those experiences but dont always remember them  as vividly. But i do have contact through my dreams with people who have passed on and precognitive dreams that foretell future events. I have even had the experience of a shared dream where five of us shared the exact same dream  on the same night.
My daughter displayed the same abilities with precognitive dreams and as she got older we began to experiment with it to see if we could connect on some level. I did start to keep a dream journal and at first i found that my dreams seemed less frequent, i meditiate on my dreams before i sleep and also talk to my guides during the day, explaining what it is i am trying to achieve. I try to be very specific and make clear requests and generally one at a time as with the dreams request about our new home. After a week or so i was recording up to seven dreams in the mornings and i found that as i wrote one dream it would prompt a memory of the next and so on. As i read back through my journal i would begin to see imagery that i could work with. Months before my brother passed away i had a series of dreams where from my window i would literally see the world turn upside down. When my daughter started to hang out with some bad company and consequently begin to act out i dreamt that she was in the back seat of a red car that was running away with no driver and i felt helpless to reach it and control it. Just the other night i dreamt that my 11 and a hlf year old son fell into a raging river that was sweeping a whole lot of teenagers down stream. He came home that afternoon and told me he was ravenous and i recognized in him the onset of a growth spurt and the realization that puberty was about to claim him. In lucid dreams i have contact with my guides and loved ones and sometimes i wake with information that i understand and other times information that i really have no idea about. My brother came to me in a lucid dream weeks after he passed and gave me some information that only my mother would understand, to give her some peace and hope that she would reunite with him when her day comes. She knew instantly what he was talking about and it has lifted us all through the darkness of grief.
It really is as easy as , meditate, ask for guidance, record your dreams and persist. I hope this is of some help to you. I would love to know how you go.
