Anyone have any tricks for this?  The "hot flashes" of the menpause thread reminded me of this.  Besides the power surges, I've always been "a sweater", which makes the hot flashes all the more irritating, but in general it's a REAL nuisance!

After running into some skin problems last year, I've learned I have to wear shorts and sandals whenever I feel I can get away with it (I'm in Vancouver, climate pretty much the same as Seattle --or, the UK, I'm told), and sometimes tote a change of under clothing  .   I heard that a certain daily vitamin supplement (won't name names just in case it's not allowed) helps.  It MAY have helped a tiny bit, but not enough for me to really get overly excited about it.

Those soya capsules I mentioned in the other thread seemed to help somewhat, but because of other undesirable side effects I stopped using it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Linda

I have similar condition. I use antiperspirant called maxim. It is available only in Germany. This is not a alternative medicine though.
I drink Nettle tea and Detox tea as well.
Please check ths: Voyager

Use an antiperspirant containing 20% aluminium chloride such as Drichlor; avoid pungent foods such as garlic or curry; wear breathable clothes and shoes made from natural rather than synthetic fibres; and of course, wash as regularly as possible.

Is there a cure?

In most cases, yes, depending on where the problem area is. Botulinum Toxin injections can control excessive sweating in the under-arm area by blocking the nerves that supply the eccrine sweat glands. They only take about 20 minutes, are virtually painless and have no known side effects. They need repeating every six to nine months.

Thanks Voyager.  I used Arm and Hammer (men's) antipersirant.  Everytime they change the formula I panic since it's the only thing that works for me (honestly if I didn't use it, I'd smell like a construction worker lol!)

As for the injections, I had heard about that, but since it's not just my 'pits,    it's not really practical.
