Folk tale- If you have trouble sleeping rub some lettuce on your forehead or eat a few leaves and you will have no trouble sleeping.

 

When you grow lettuce in your garden is provides protection but if you have too much lettuce they say it brings on sterility (they sure didnt get sterile in the 1800's having all them kids per family lol)

 

To save yourself from temptation of the flesh eat lettuce (hmm lol and dont have chocolate for dessert LOL)

 

Lettuce helps prevent seasickness.

 

If you want to grow a love between yourself and another, plant some lettuce or cress seeds in the form of thier name...if they grow well and full so will your love grow between the two of you.

 

 

It also makes for a delicious salada (especially in the summer as a meal in the hot afternoon:  ) and a great topper on a hamburger.
