Folk Names:
Alraun, Anthropomorphon, Baaras, Brain Thief, Circeium, Circoea, Galgenmannchen, Gallows, Herb of Circe, Hexenmannchen(German:Witches' Mannildn), Ladykins, Mandragen, Mandragor, Mannikin, Raccoon Berry, Semihomo, Wild Lemon, Womandrake, Zauberwurzel(German for Soceror's Root)

Powers:
  Protection, Fertility, Money, Love, Health

Place a whole mandrake root on a mantle in your home for protection, fertility and prosperity. Also hung on your bed for protection during sleep. Carry this herb to attract love. Worn if protects against illness. Where there is mandrake demons can not enter/live. The scent of mandrake causes sleep.

It's said if you place silver coins near a mandrake root, the money doubles.

It's also said to activate a mandrake root, place it in a prminent place in the home, and leave it there for 3 days, this brings the roots out of hibernation.

The water with which the mandrake was washed in has been used in a sprinkling of the home/windows to protect it and sprinkled on people to purify them (iewwwwwww!)

This plant is rarely used anymore as substitues have been used more so due to rarity of the plant and the high cost.

Substitutions can be made from :
Ash Roots, Apples, Root of Briony, American May-Apple and a few other great plants/herbs.

LOL and yes this is the screamer from Harry Potter's movie

Blessings
RA
