When my daughter was little, she used to sing Oh Canada all the time. In case anyone doesn't know, the lyrics are "Oh Canada, we stand on guard for thee..." but she used to say "Oh Canada, we stand on god for greed." She put all of her heart into it and when we finally got the nerve to tell her the REAL lyrics, she refused to believe it, just told us we were wrong and that she knew what she was doing. It was quite fun...we'd get her to sing it when company came over and everyone would bust a gut...of course we'd have to tell her "We're laughing because you're just so cute when you sing!!" |

The other week my husband was telling my daughter about how she needs to watch her tone of voice, yadda yadda, and how she can't talk to her grandmother or great-grandmother that way. Kate said she would never talk to her great-grandmother that way because she was very old and nice and wouldn't talk to her like that. Hubby said he was her elder also and she still shouldn't back talk to him like she had been doing. Kate fired off that he wasn't old and my 8 year old son chimes in "Yea, you still have skin!" (as opposed to their great grandmother who I guess is skinless???!!!) DeniseNH |
