and I've been doing ghost hunts off and on for a few years now. My first one was a bust, but the second about a year later was so extraordinary and so moving to me that I'm writing a book about it, which leads me to my first question...
The tragedy that brought this ghost hunt about happened Sept. 17, 1934 when a farmer killed his very pregnant wife, her 12 yr old son and their small 3 yr old daughter. During the research of this a psychic was contacted and I was told that Dora, the wife/mother who was killed, wants me to write hte story because the way it was written for hte newspapers in 1934 is not right. However...I don't know just how wrong those articles are, other than the fact that she fought him and wounded him and tried everything she could to keep him from harming the children. That isn't portrayed at all in the articles; the articles state she was killed first and the tone is almost as if she just allowed him to do it.
I've tried to do my own EVPs, asking her questions that I'm hoping to get answers to but so far nothing. So, the anniversary is coming up and is actually during the week that I'm on vacation. I have permission to take a picture of the house and full access to the property, so I'm wondering if I could try an EVP session that late afternoon/evening of the 74th anniversary? I would love to talk to Dora; this family has been in my head for so long now, almost three years, and it's such a mystery and I want to know so badly exactly what happened.
By the way, my name is Mandi, I'm 29 and live in northeastern Colorado. My son is 3 yrs and my husband and I have been married 8 yrs. He also goes with me on hunts but does not get affected as much as I do. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone here!
