Dear Fellow Members:

This really happened to me......

I have long been a fan of the wonderful "spook opera", DARK

SHADOWS.  When they started having "Dark Shadows Festivals", I of

course had to go....especially since they were held in New York City, where I

lived.   (They were also held in California....and I did manage to attend one

or two of the CA ones, as well.)   But mostly, I went to the NY "Fests".  At

first held annually, then every 2 years, I went to all the New York

Festivals.  (They still have small ones....but not the huge ones they used

 to.....)

Anyway, most of these DS Fests were held at the Vista Hotel....address:

World Trade Center 3 -- the hotel which was situated between the two

towers of the World Trade Center!

Throughout the 4 or 5 annual or bi-annual Festivals I attended, every time

I went, when I entered the lobby, especially, and sometimes in the hallways

near my room, I had this very weird feeling that this building somehow was

not going to last.  It was like I might have felt, had I somehow been

transported to the decks of the Titanic or something.   Of course, I never

told anyone of this; even at a gathering honoring our love for a spooky

, romantic drama, people would probably have said, "'C'mon....get

real!  Nothing is going to happen to this building.....it was here at the last DS

Festival, 2 years ago.....and it's going to be here next time, too!"

After the first WTC bombing took place, the Festival was changed and we

went to the mid-town Marriot Marquis, instead.   For two festivals.  Then, the Vista hotel was "fixed", (repaired).....and we went back to having the Festivals there.   So did my feelings when entering the hotel lobby.....but I had NO premonition that the first WTC bombing would lead to an even worse attack.

That last time, when I entered the building, I had a very strange feeling, as I passed through the doorway,,,like I was passing through something historical or something.   It was about two weeks before 9/11, as I remember.... August 20th or 21st, 2001, I think.... Anyway, I had never had that feeling, walking through the doorway of the hotel before......

Then 9/11 happened, and I suddenly understood all my previous feelings.   Even the feeling at the beginning of the festival-ending "banquet", that last time, when one of the fan leaders got up, and said, "Just think....our spirits will be in this room long after we leave it!"  (I had wanted to scream at him, "No....we'll all be here long after this building is gone!  Why can't you feel it, too?"!")

A year later, when the new DS Festival was again held at the Marriot Marquis Hotel, I finally told a good friend about my experience.  This friend....who works in a nursing home....but also is a part-time entertainer, and a part-time(?) witch, mentioned to me that she had also had that feeling....with such simple sincerity, I could not, and cannot, doubt her
sincerity.

The further in time this "feeling" leaves me, the more it fades....but I know  have all the facts right.

Very, very strange...............................and very, very good!

I really need that reading!
