I'm baffled at the number of creepy, horrible hearted people that walk the face of this earth, doing harm to others in some way or another...or, at the least, doing NOTHING to benefit other people, but rather themselves and not get sick!  And, yet.....there are truly wonderful people that give of themselves all of the time and help others all of the time and yet, it's THEM that have all of the hardships and illnesses!

There's no use in asking "Why?"......I'm just throwing this little rant out into the cosmic void!

Ok.....I've vented!

<<<<<I can't even watch the news or read the newspaper anymore, because I get so affected by the filth I see and hear and read about.>>>>>>>

I'm glad someone else has said the same thing as me!  I feel a bit goofy being out of the loop news-wise (although I do get snippets on the radio), but I get either terribly distraught, or moved to violence.   Well, not really, I'm one of the least violence prone people I know! -- but if it gets ME going...imagine what it does to someone with a hair trigger temper!

I've often had to wonder...whose bright idea was it to have the main tv news happen at suppertime and at bedtime??   Both time when you need to unwind, and you get a good dose of just the opposite!

Hi Louellen

It is always good to vent.  I lost my brother at the age of 34 due to a heart attack from things such as stress.  When people keep things pent up inside it can lead to health problems.  This group all seem very nice and I know we all understand about having to vent.  Hope things get better.

I think I'm going to add my 2 cents to this thread regarding why good people suffer and nasty people seem to prosper.  I've come to the conclusion, actually I'm convinced of this (and this is only my own opinion here...LOL), the reason that horrible people don't suffer health wise, financially, etc. is because they take and take and take from others and their only concern is themselves.  They suck people dry and move on to the next "victim".  They truly suck the life out of good people.  They take from good people because good people are ALWAYS willing to give of themselves, their money, clothes, etc.  Good people suffer mainly because of horrible people.  They're taken advantage of in every way imaginable.  They're viewed as weak to most people (although we know we're not).

I have friends that don't understand why I would allow people to walk all over me, I just tell them that it's who I am, I don't consider it a weakness and although I struggle and suffer greatly due to others' mistreatment towards me, I would NEVER change who I am.  I love the fact that I can make someone smile because I've don't something nice for them.  Because I do this though, I do struggle financially, emotionally and physically and I tend to get very angry with myself at times because I allow others to mistreat me sometimes.  I have tried to set boundaries but it's a very difficult thing for me because that would make me feel like I'm being heartless or nasty or even selfish.  I do have my limits, though, although they're a lot different than a lot.  I take a lot before I say enough.  I tend to shock people when they've pushed me to my limits...LOL.

Here's the difference between good and bad people.  Although good people would like to believe they look out for themselves, they really don't.  They look out for everyone else and neglect themselves in a lot of ways (even though they don't realize it).  They will go hungry if it means that someone less fortunate, will be able to eat a healthy meal.  They will go without money if it means that someone else will positively benefit from their help.  They are the bleeding hearts.  They are the ones trying the change the world.  The stresses of all of that can add up and play havoc on their bodies, minds, souls, hearts, etc.  Anyone that means something to them is their top priority.  They will even go as far as starving themselves if they don't have much money to ensure that their animals are well fed, healthy and taken care of properly.  They stay in the background (trying not to be noticed since that's not what they're about) and will always stand behind the people they love and encourage them to achieve everything that they desire.  On top of that, usually their main (and sometimes only) desire is usually only that; to see their loved ones prosper and live complete and happy lives.  These wonderful people are also the LEAST likely to accept help when they need it most.  It's not a pride thing either, it's more because they believe there are other people more deserving than they are and those people should be the ones to receive the help being offered.

Good people still have faith in mankind, where horrible people could care less if there was anyone else in the world but them, as long as they had all the luxuries they desired.  Most crave power of some sort.  Some good people also go after powerful positions but again, usually only to better mankind in some way.  Bono (the lead singer of U2) is a perfect example of someone being able to use his power to benefit mankind.  He has done so many wonderful things for the AIDS epedemic in Africa.  He's used his money, his power and his fame to approach top politicians around the world to ask for money toward the epedemic to educate and medicate the individuals suffering the most.  He's a wonderful person and as sad as it is to say this, I won't be surprised if he dies at a young age.  He is one of the VERY FEW celebrities that I would love to meet just to let him know what a beautiful person he is.  I think he would make a wonderful world leader as well (anyway, I will stop talking about him now since this isn't about Bono or U2...LOL).

The bad, nasty, horrible people (whatever you want to call them), crave power to CONTROL mankind to benefit their own agendas.  They want everyone and everything to be EXACTLY how they want it.  Their views, their opinions, EVERYTHING has to be to their own benefit somehow.  Hitler is a perfect example of a horrible person.  He tried to wipe out entire races of people that he thought were inferior.  He used fear to control the masses to destroy these races.  He initially used money to convince the people that he was what their country needed to survive and prosper (and at first he followed through and produced results to gain a larger following), then when he achieve power, he tried to change people's belief systems.  He brainwashed the people until they did start to believe that they were the superior race and of course, if anyone did decide to deviate from his views, opinions, etc. they were killed thus creating a fear in people not to deviate from him.  He tried to take over the world one country at a time.  Finally, when he realized that he was losing, he killed himself.  Why?  Because he was losing the war?  No, because things were no longer going the way he wanted them to.  He was losing his control.  Sadam and Bin Ladin (sp?) are exactly the same.

One thing for sure though is that the good people, although a lot of them suffer greatly in this life, and a lot die early deaths and tend to have greater health problems, higher powers will always smile upon them.  And the horrible people, even if they don't suffer in this lifetime, will have to come back in another lifetime and suffer greatly for their selfish, greedy, nasty ways.  What goes around comes around right?  Karma's going to kick them right in the butts.

Anyway, sorry this message was so long for everyone, but I was just sharing my opinions, and that's all that they are, my own opinions.  No one else has to share my opinions and if others have different views, please share, I think it's wonderful when people share their opinions with others and are still met with acceptance for it.  There's just too many people now a days that have their opinions and hate it when others don't share those same opinions.  I love the fact that we can all come onto this site and share our opinions and not get judged or attacked for sharing different view from everyone else.  I love you all so much even though I don't know any of you.  You're all such wonderful people.  I hope all of us on this site are blessed with LONG, PROSPEROUS, HEALTHY lives (even though the odds are stacked against us since we are the good people...LOL).  Hope to hear some of your thoughts and views soon.

Louellen,
You said this just right! Up until I got knocked to my knees...I had no idea about
why things like this happen. I still wonder about it, but God does chasten those he
loves and tests them to the max.

Not wasting space at all Tony

I'll equate your wife's increase in calling to this analogy (which may or may not be relevant to you)

When a woman makes an appointment for a haircut, it's usually because she thinks her hair looks like crap and it needs to be updated.  However, the closer you get to the date, for some reason, your hair starts to look pretty good.  And then you consider cancelling your appointment.  For those that do cancel the appointment, the hair suddenly looks like crap again the next day.

I do not know why this happens, but I swear it's happened to me and would not be surprised if it's happened to others here too.

It's the same kind of thing with your wife.

If this doesn't make sense,  Let me know and I'll try and explain.  LOL Hope I didn't make things more confusing.

I think I understand what you are saying. It was the worse night sleep in a long time not sure if it was because my stomach acted up or because of her on both parts (stomach and sleep) but I know that isnt good either way.
