I am so happy for you,
I know you will love having Chilli home and getting to know him.
I have  a bit of a wait yet till I get my baby Quaker
but I know the wait will be worth it.

Congratulations on your new fid (feathered kid). While you are waiting for him to come home, you can do some more research on quakers so you will be fully prepared for the new arrival. Don't be a stranger here, ask anything you want like you have been doing.

Congratulations! A quaker owner and I were talking about them yesterday--saying we have NEVER heard any real complaints about quakers! Sure you will be very happy together.            Katz

Alex,  Congratulations. Glad you found your bird.  Chilli is a cute name.
Yes, I think all birds need a cuttlebone for the calcium it provides.  They are rather soft and easy to chew up so you may want to buy several or at least know where to get more if Chilli really chews on his a lot.
Before he comes home, you need to think about his diet too so you can have all these things on hand.  Ask the breeder what they are feeding so you don't have to make a diet change while he is learning about you and his new home.
Toys--wooden hanging toys are nice to place close to his favorite perch.  Another to leave on the floor of the cage for play but be sure this one can be washed and sterilized easily.  I buy practice golf balls at discount stores for my birds.  Very inexpensive and can be sterilized.  They have holes in them so they are easy for a bird to hold.  Pet stores have many things to choose from, just be sure the size of the toy fits the size of the bird and doesn't have long strings to get tangled in.
Have fun with him.
Annie

Congratulations Alex!!!!

You are now owned by a Quaker! Just wait, your whole household is going to revolve around this little green bundle of love. I have had my Quaker "Kiwi" for 3 months and honestly don't know how I lived with out one for sooo long. He is the funniest LGC (little green chicken) and I do not regret deciding on a Quaker over another bird.
I hope you enjoy Chili as much as I do Kiwi.

Christol

That'll work fine.  I just put some new ones in one of my albums that WalMart put on a floppy for me.  You may have to save them to a folder in your pc, then upload to an album.  Not sure whether you can do it without that step.   Annie
