I took the dog out the back door a few hours ago and noticed this cat sitting in the far corner of the deck, and as soon as it saw me, it started meeowing....like it was lost, cold, and hungry.  Let me walk right up to it....   I checked with neighbors, no one's seen it around here before.  Consensus is, it was probably dumped off.   I got some cat food from the neighbor and it acted like it hasn't eaten in awhile.   Friendly thing, loves head scratches and sitting on my lap.  Right now, it's snuggled into a warm spot on the upper laundry shelf.  I haven't done a detailed inspection but I'm thinking that, unfortunately, it might be a pregnant female

Oh Di, that is awful the kitties were coyote crunchies.  When I lived in Marysville there were coyotes that were catching people's cats.  One of my cats disappeared, so may have been a victim.  They got into my chicken house and had chicken dinners once as well.  I haven't seen any here, but often hear them howling at night, off in the distance.  My cat stays inside 24/7, so is safe from them.  Kathy

Good morning,

She is a beautiful cat:  what a great Christmas present!

I could probaby use her in my home.  I just saw a fat little mouse run across the kitchen floor.  I guess the weather is making them look for shelter.  Too bad The Princess couldn't pretend to be a raptor for a while.

It's snowing very lightly, and as much as I hate to admit it, all the fir trees look magical.

Best wishes to all,
Barbara

Sherri, you have such a big heart!  So big, I'm sending you the two strays that keep house on my patio and never lose a moment to scare the dickens out of my birds!!
Gross.......coyote crunchies!!  I'll have to remember that term! LOL!  We've coyotes galore around here!  They just haven't figured out how to jump the 7 foot wall around my house to retrieve these furry treats....
Crystal

We had dogs when I was little, up until we moved to FL when I was in 2nd grade.  I didn't want to move (not at ALL), and got promised I could finally have a kitty when we got to FL.  I picked out my first cat & it was a calico.  I named her Snooper.  She was with me a good many years.

I so hate it that I have now developed severe cat allergies.  Tom & I were in a local hardware store yesterday afternoon.  He is not a cat person, but he started to point out (for my benefit) a very realistic fake cat all curled up snoozing.  His pointer finger got a little too close and he suddenly realized the cat was not so fake because she woke up !  She was a gorgeous, I mean GORGEOUS solid black cat.  Her fur looked like a velvet muff.  Her solid black nose on top was so beautiful.  I was just dying to touch her, but didn't dare.  She just stretched a paw and closed her eyes again, knowing that the trespassers in her domain would soon be gone.

Here she is making herself comfy on the back of the sofa.  Isn't it great the way she matches everything?

Oh my! Look at her face! She is absolutely adorable, GB! And yes, she sure does fit in beautifully, as far as colour co-ordination goes! lol

She is beautiful, Goodbird!  Have you given her a name yet??  Looks like she has made herself very much at home.  There is nothing better than a cozy kitty.  I would love to have another one.

What a pretty gal, wonderful colouring and great quilt...

Brings back memories of when we lived in the country and we had so many "drop off's"
At one time I had two calico and when they'd sit on the bookcase they looked like bookends...
Our barns certainly never had critters running around... between dogs, cats and birds I think we had it covered...

Di, you're batting a thousand....coyote crunches and Sophie on the Sofa.....haaaaahahhaa.
Looks like this kitty has not only worked her way into your home but into your heart.  She looks such a sweet thing and is so pretty.  Me....I had a calico too....but of course her name was Cali.  Go figure..hunh.
Wonder if you're gonna have many mini Christmas presents?  That would be something like superCALIfragilisticexpieallidotious.
