Don’t Reject God- Hell Is No Joke
Luke 16:19-31 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
16:20 - And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
16:21 - And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
16:22- And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
16:23 - And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
16:24- And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
16:25 -But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
16:26 -And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
16:27 - Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
16:28 -For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
16:29 - Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
16:30 - And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
16:31 - And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
Rev 14:10 -The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
14:11 -And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Mark 9:43 = And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
9:44 - Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
God gave me this message several years ago. This is not a very pretty message, but is a true message and one we do not want to hear.
I went to visit a certain woman that was in the hospital to pray for her. As I went in and began to talk to her she began to tell me of a dream that she had the night before. She said she dreamed that she died and went to hell and when she got there it was not really bad at all and it was not even hot. I knew right then that this dream was of Satan. This is one of the biggest lies that Satan has ever told.
Satan has been a lie from the beginning because we can see where Satan suggested to Eve that God did not really mean what he said “of every tree of the garden tho mayest eat freely�?when God had already said “but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, tho shall not eat of it; for in the day that tho eatest thereof thou should surely die�?/FONT>
Gen.- 3:4 - And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
3:5 - For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. ( Satan has tempted mankind to believe that they can be like God and decide for themselves what is good and what is bad. The Scriptures said that all who seek to be Gods “shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.�?( Jeremiah 10:10-11)
Like I said before that one of the biggest lies that Satan has ever told is that If anyone goes to hell that it will not be bad in hell. Hell is no joke.
Mat.- 7:13 - Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
We can look back in the beginning as Noah was building the ark and I am sure that there were people laughing and mocking and making fun of Noah because it had never rained before. I believe that these peoples opened their eyes in hell as the rich man did. But these people are not In hell for laughing, mockery, or making fun of Noah. They are In hell for rejecting God.
Noah preached to these folks for 120 years yet they still rejected God.
Gen.-6:3 - And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. ( Just as it was in the days of Noah so it is today.
Gods�?spirit will not always strive with man. Don’t reject God. Today is the day of salvation. Come while God spirit strives with you.
Now we go to “am I my brother’s keeper�? This is Cain who slew his brother. He’s not in hell because he killed Able. He is there because he rejected God. Jesus said in Matthew 5:21-22-
5:21- Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
5:22 - But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
You don’t go to hell just because you kill someone, you can get forgiveness from that. You go to hell because you reject God. You don’t have to be bad to go to hell, all you have to do is to reject Jesus Christ.
Now we move alone to where King Agrippa and we hear him speaking to Paul, “almost persuaded.�?/FONT>
Paul almost persuaded him to be a Christian. And Paul said, “I would to God, that not only thou, but all that hear me this day, were both almost an altogether such as I am, except these bonds�? But some are you are being held in bonds by Satan. Get out from under that bondage. Some of you are almost persuaded to be baptized in the name of Jesus, to receive the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. But if you don’t watch it Satan will lie to you and tell you that this is not necessary. But this is another lie of Satan and if you listen to him his lie will send you to hell. Don’t reject God.
Now we move on to where we hear Felix saying to Paul, “when I have a convenient season.�?You won’t have a more convenient season than right now. Even though Felix trembled, there is no evidence as far as I know where Gods�?spirit ever dealt with him again.
Now we move on where we hear John the Baptist tell Herod and Herodias, “it is unlawful for you to have your brother’s wife�? They even sacrificed Herodias daughter. She got Herod excited with her ungodly dancing. He asked her what she wanted and she told him that she wanted the head of John the Baptist on a charger because that is what her mother have told her to do. Her mother wanted to get even with John the Baptist because he had pointed out their sin. You have better listen to a man or woman of God when they are speaking truth But I believe they also lifted up their eyes in hell, because they had rejected the man of God and also God.
We hear so many excuses why someone will not serve God. But if you reject God, we cannot come to hell to get you, but we have the message that will save you if you will only listen. God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ in that day.
Romans 2:16-In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
You cannot hide your sins from God. You’re going to have to answer for them. The Bible warn us of the day of judgment that is to come.
The day of judgment to come was prophesied in Proverbs: 1: 24-26-
1:24 -Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
1:25 - But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
1:26 -I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
We see from the Scriptures that God will laugh at your calamity and mock you when your fear cometh. They shall call upon God, but he will not answer. It will be too late for the mercy of God. Men will seek God, but will not be able to find him. It will be forever to late.
Math.- 7:21 -Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
7:22 -Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
7:23 -And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
It is not everyone that says “Lord, Lord�? that shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but it is those who do the will of God. Many will say to him in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have we not cast out Devils? And then he will profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me you that work iniquity. Do you want to know why he never knew them? Because they fail to have a marriageable relationship with him. They never had that first love, they love the things of the world and also the man-made things and they refused to take on his name. They refused to have him as the head. He was never the husband because they refused to take on his name. In fact this is what some of you are doing, you also are refusing to take on his name in baptism and also refusing his way of salvation.
This tells us there will be those who have a portion of the truth and live for God. It is possible to cast out Devils in the name of Jesus and still be lost. If we do not walk in the full light of truth and live according to the will of God, we will not make it. These are church people who have done many wonderful works to whom Jesus said,�?I Never Knew You�? How dreadful that is going to be. Thinking that your good works will save you and then come to that day and be “cast out.�?/FONT>
What was the sentence of those who name were not found written in the “Book of Life?�?Cast them into the ”Lake of Fire�? This place was not make for man, it was made for the Devil and his Angels. God never intended for you or me to go there, but there are those who will eventually make their home in that terrible place called hell.
Isaiah 5:14 speaks of this place.
“Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.�?/FONT>
Just look who will be there- the Devil and his Angels, backsliders, ungodly, those who received not a love for the truth, and those who would not obey the gospel of Jesus Christ and his apostles. They would not obey the Jesus Christ baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in another tongue. Please I ask you if you fit in of these categories you have time right now to repent and be fill with the baptism of the Holy Ghost and baptized in Jesus Christ in water to remit your sins. Now is the time when God’s spirit is still striving with man. Friend, you do need to obey the gospel and receive the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues. You don’t have to be one that goes to that awful place. Hell is no joke!
Death and hell will be cast into the lake of fire, which will be the second death.
Revelation 20:14- And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
20:15 - And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
It has been said that those who are “born twice�?“will only die�?once. Those who are only “borne once�?“will die twice.�?The “born-again�?experience is the birth that will really count.
Let’s ever think for one minute that we shall escape if we neglect this great salvation. Those who do not obey the gospel of Jesus Christ shall be punished with everlasting destruction by the Lord Jesus and his Angels.
2 Thes.1:8- In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 2:8- But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
2:9- Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
Romans 2:11-For there is no respect of persons with God. ( once you have seen the truth, don’t let Satan tell you that is no need to obey it or that you have plenty of time to decide whether you will accept it or not. Don't be like Felix and wait for a more conveint time. We need to take advantage of the opportunity before us. Jesus Christ is offering us life; but just as surely as we reject it, we were receive death and damnation.
“Don’t reject God.�?“Hell is no joke�?The Bible gives us a terrible picture of the destiny of the lost.
It speaks of “tribulation and anguish.�?( Romans 2:9) “weeping and gnashing of teeth’�?( Math. 22:13) “everlasting destruction�?( to2 Thes. 1:9) “a furnace of fire�?( Math.- 13:42,50) “chains of darkness�?( 2 Peter 2:4)�?everlasting punishment�? Math. 25:46) �?a hell and fire that will never be quenched�?( Mark 9�?3) �?a lake of fire burning with brimstone�?( Rev. 19:20) “and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night �?( Rev. 14:11)
“It is a fearful thing to fall in the hands of the living God�?(Heb. 10:31) �?it had been good for that man if he had not been born�?( Math.26:24)
Need I say anymore? Sound like a place that I do not want to go to. Eternal punishment for the wicked is the greatest motivation for carrying the gospel to all the world and doing everything possible to persuade people to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and receiving the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the spirit gives the utterance before it is too late.
The Bible teaches that judgment on evildoers is certain. We as Christians may find this doctrine unpleasant or hard to understand. We must submit to God’s words and trust Gods�?decision and justice. Gods sent his son to die in order that no one needs to perish. ( John 3:16)
It is not God’s intention or desire to send anyone to hell ( 2 Peter 3:9 -The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.)
Those who enter hell do so by resisting the salvation provided by God.( Acts 2:38).
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.�?/FONT>
The reality of hell should cause all of God’s people to hate sin and to seek the salvation of the lost and to warn everyone of the future judgment of God. Don’t reject God hell is no joke!
If God could cause all those plagues to come upon the land of Egypt, let’s not be foolish enough to think he was not perform his words once again. The judgments of God are real and certain. But there is an escape. Do you want to know how to the escape?
Acts 2:37-Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
2:38- Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
2:39- For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.
2: 40- And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
2:41- Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
This is our escape route for the judgments of God are coming on this world. He is calling you today Listen unto his voice.
Rev. 3:20-Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Don’t turn him a way as he stands knocking at your heart door. Let him in. Don’t reject God. Hell is no joke, At the end of the road you will meet God, no matter what road you take at the end of the road you will meet God. Don’t reject God, hell is no joke, it is real.
