SMALLER CORPS


THE INTELLIGENCE CORPS (Int Corps)
The Intelligence Corps deals with operational intelligence, counter-intelligence and security. (Personnel strength in January 2006 was 1,440).

THE ROYAL ARMY VETERINARY CORPS (RAVC)
The RAVC looks after the many animals that the Army has on strength. Veterinary tasks in today's Army are mainly directed towards guard or search dogs and horses, for ceremonial duties. (Personnel strength in January 2006 was 190).

THE ARMY PHYSICAL TRAINING CORPS (APTC)
Consists mainly of SNCOs who are responsible for unit fitness. The majority of major units have a representative from this corps on their strength. (Personnel strength in January 2006 was 440).

THE GENERAL SERVICE CORPS (GSC)
A holding unit for specialists. Personnel from this corps are generally members of the Reserve Army.

SMALL ARMS SCHOOL CORPS (SASC)
A small corps with the responsibility of training instructors in all aspects of weapon handling. (Personnel strength in January 2006 was 150).

The Royal Gibraltar Regiment

Gibraltar also has its own single battalion of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment comprising one regular and two volunteer companies.
