Morning everyone.  A very pretty but very cold Wed. here.  We ended up with approx. 5" of snow.  Not bad but now it's nice and icy under it.  Glad hubby and I went out and shoveled and snowblowed it from the walks and driveway.  We really could have not used the snowblower since it wasn't all that heavy a snow.  But since we own one and haven't used it in a few years (virtually not enough last year and the year before he couldn't get it started) it needed a work out.

MIL came home last night.  Was very surprised that she did since the weather wasn't good.  It was such a pleasure not having her here and being able to sit in the living room to read or watch tv or even play with the cats and not having her sigh and mutter how bored she is.

Well I'm debating getting dressed and heading for the woods for a walk.  But it's really cold out so I think the warmth of the house kinda wins out. LOL.  Enjoy your day

Good Morning Claudia and Everyone.  Somehow I got an extra few minutes lol.  Claudia..you head out there...have camera will travel   Looks like the east coast really got a wallop.  Indiana had something like a 30 car pile up?  We had a 12 on the weekend.  5 semis and 7 cars.....all because people do not use their $##%%% common sense.  It was white out conditions, but they travel anyway, and some wayyy too fast such as the semis.  Thankfully one fellow warned a couple ahead that I semi was coming, they left their car within minutes, before the semi turned it into a "tuna can", as he called it.  Been in white out on thwe highway many years ago....and have not travelled the highways in the winter since as I spun out, got turned around facing oncoming traffic, that was enough for me.  I left Winnipeg with the sun shining, and got hit with the white out about 15 minutes later.  was REAL impressed there were no warnings on the radio.  Anyhoo lol.....I am venting now.  Must mean I am ready for work lol.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Good Morning/Afternoon Everyone!

Noon here actually...and we're under a 'Winter Storm Watch' with 10 degrees (-12.22222 for you Judy)...Yippee   It started snowing yesterday...and has continued off and on...and even though the sun is out (peeking out between clouds) it's STILL snowing....

I will say...that my project was a success...of a sort.  And just in time too...my project was getting better treatment for Star...the horse...that's been left in the pasture across our river.  The owner had virtually abandoned her.  And I hurt for her everyday.  And...I finally decided that enough was enough and started contacting people.  And...I got the state involved...not to get the owner in trouble...but to get better treatment for Star.  The state determined that the owner MUST provide at least a wind-break, and a salt/mineral block...and they're testing the water in the river to determine if the owner must provide 'clean' drinking water.  So...just in time for the snow-storm...the owner put up a shelter of a sort (I DEFINITELY would have done it differently)...and is bringing clean hay and oats every day.  YAAAAAAAAY!  We'll see how long his 'good behavior' lasts....because it took legal threats to get him to this point.

I'm getting lots of birdies at my 'tree feeder' and a lady Cardinal made herself quite at home on my bird feeder this morning...very pretty little lady she was.

Well...I've got a pot-roast in the crock...and again I'm under my blankie with my trusty goggies at my feet...I actually think that without the goggies...I would freeze to death...will probably be doing laundry later...if I get the gumption.

I wish enough for all of you!

Good evening! Well, we made it to wednesday!! It is supposed to be 40 degrees here tomorrow. I cannot wait. I hope some of that ice melts out of my driveway!
I will have to listen to the news tonight. I didn't even kinow the east got hit.
I had my second interview at Mercy today. I am not sure how it went. He said they would call me in a week and let me know.
I made the mistake of asking what they do in bad weather, ice storm or something where the buses are not running or the roads are closed. He said you are required to be there as they are a hospital, and you can stay over the night before or if the weather gets bad while you are there, you can stay the night. I have never worked a place where you were required to come in no matter what. That one question will probably be enough to make them decide I am not "commited" enough to work for them.
I think I am getting depressed!!
Oh well, 2 more days and it is the weekend again! I will find my niche sooner or later.
Have a great night.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway that you get this job.  I don't think it was such a great idea that you asked about bad weather but you did and it's water under the bridge so to speak.  He could have just tried to see if you were committed enough or not.  Strange that this process is taking so long.
