would anyone know what the two important properties make hexane and suitable solvent for recrystalization with ethyl acetate filtrate?

thanks

I'm assuming that you are recrystallizing a solid from a mixture of hexane and ethyl acetate, since both of these are liquids.  Hexane and ethyl acetate are miscible, so they can be mixed in any proportion without "layering".  Ethyl acetate is polar, while hexane is nonpolar, so, you can vary the "net" polarity of this solvent mixture by varying the amount of hexane in it.  In practice, if your solid is soluble in ethyl acetate and insoluble in hexane, you could dissolve it in a minumum amount of ethyl acetate and add enough hexane to cause the solid to crystallize.

Hope this helps!
