Hey guys ~ I need to do an Independent Study in Organic Chemistry. Does anyone know some cool project ideas? I'm looking for something relatively easy but with some depth - and nothing to do with chemiluminescence. Thanks for your time!

A synthesis project might be worthwhile - will you have access to a well-supplied lab and/or knowledgeable supervisor?  Also, how much organic chemistry have you had?  I'm assuming you've had a semester or two of college organic chem.
 
I'll mull over some possibilities in the meantime!
