I need help understanding biomolecules and monomers. For homework, I am to find the monomers that makes up a representative protein and a represantative carbohydrate, and write about its three dimensional structure. I don't understand this. Would someone be able to help me or give me a website that explains it? Thanks |

Hi Meri, here's a little info. The monomers of proteins are the amino acids, while the monomers of polysaccharides such as starch are the monosaccharides or simple sugars. In both cases, the monmers link together to form long chains, but in polysaccharides, branched chains also occur. Below are a couple of links that introduce these two subjects.
