Hi Ciara, recently someone else also had a question about reactions. The bad news is, about the only way to get comfortable with them is to do enough drill work remembering the ions and their charges, writing chemical formulas, and completing and balancing reactions, until it becomes "second nature". This is from my previous message, but the practice exercises in the last link are pretty good, if you're looking for more practive outside of the exercises in your textbook: "For writing chemical reactions, you'll want to have a table of common positive and negative ions handy, and for double displacement reactions, a list of solubility rules: Hope this helps, and keep at it! Steve >> the Chemically Unbalanced One << I think that goes for me too! |
