(((Dear Sherry))) I had tears in my eyes by the time I finished reading your post. I can imagine that it was a terrible position in which to be,,,for anyone, and especially a parent. I think that you did make the right decision, but, what I think does not matter. It is what you felt that your precious James would want...and it took a great deal of courage to to that.
No body, and I mean NO BODY has the right to judge you or be upset with your decision.
I faced a similar situation with my mother. She had gone into a coma...and the doctor asked us if we wanted her put on life support. My 2 sister and my 2 brothers looked at me and did not say a word. I have worked in the medical profession for years, and saw a lot of this...so I spoke up and said...If it is only tempreorary and if it will mean that she will wake up and be able to have a fairly normal life, then yes.....If not, then no. They all agreed with that, but, had not wanted to be the one to say it.
