A Falling Away ( Part 4) A Falling Away (Part 4)
In my last post I posted some Scriptures about what would be happening in the last days, out of 2 Tim. Chapter 3. Many people think things are getting steadily better in this world, but that is not what the Bible declares. The Bible declares that things will get worse and worse. This country was established through Christian principles, and we are seeing many of those principles falling by the wayside!
The Separists were a group of Christians living in England, they were persecuted for their faith in God. So they changed location of their church and moved it to Holland. There they were allowed to worship God according to the dictates of their hearts, without persecution. They remained in Holland for approximately ten years. They decided to relocate their church once again, due to the influence of the negative culture on their children. They decided to move to the New World. America that is! These Christian Separists are known to us today as the Pilgrims, who settled at Plymouth Rock. They started this country off as a Christian nation, where people could worship God according to their hearts desires. Our founding Fathers were men like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and others who got together and wrote the constitution and its declaration. The Bible and a hymnal were the main texbook requirements of this country's first schools. We have fallen a long way since those days.
In verse 2 of 2 Tim. 3, says that men will be lovers of themselves, and lovers of money. How true that is. How often do we see self sacrifice for the good of others? Take for instance our voting, and hopefully you are a registered regular voter. What are the principles that you vote a person into office for? Are you voting because this elected office can line your pockets (increase your pocket book), or do you vote because of the good of the country and of God's will? Too many people vote a person into office because they will help line their pockets, or because its their will they want and not God's will.
Also 2 Tim. 3:2 says, that people will be boasters, and proud. People will boast of their accomplishments, and not give God any credit. They will walk proudly in all their ways, and say look and see what we have done, not giving God praise or glory in their accomplishments or work.
From Verse 2: People will be blashemers and disobedient to parents, unthankful, and unholy. We are talking about today! People will blaspheme that precious name of Jesus, you just about have to shut your radio and TV off, because many stations and channels blasheme His name. You just about can't go to a resteraunt today any more with your family, without coming accross some filthy conversations.
And yes children today, are more disobedient today than they have ever been. Why is that? For one thing they look down on parents correcting their children any more. Its difficult to spank your child without someone calling the law on you. Then they took the paddle, and the Bible out of the schools. So parents don't need to look to the school system to help them train their kids anymore.
Unthankful... yes people are unthankful too. How many times have you sacrificed part of your hard earned income, to give gifts to someone whether its a family member, church member, or friends, and they won't as much as say thank you.
Unholy... What is being unholy! This is the definition from the dictionary: Wicked; immoral. Not hallowed or consecrated. Informal Outrageous: took unholy risks to win the downhill race. If this is not talking about our society today, then who is it talking about?
This subject is going to take awhile, as they say Rome was not built in a day, the falling away from the faith was not done in a day either. So this will also....
To be continued.
