I have been away for a few days as I have been having problems with my diabetes. While at work last Sunday morning I was feeling very dry and thirsty, lips were dry and feeling if they would soon crack. Also had real bad headaches and other discomforts. I tested my blood sugar and was quite surprised to see it at 20.1. The safe range for me is between 3.9-7.9. I waited awhile then checked it again and it was now 20.4. By 8am it had dropped to 15.7. When I got home I tested my blood sugar again and it dropped to about 13.9. It wasn't until supper time that my blood sugar dropped to 8.7. Monday morning again I felt as I just described but not as severe but still enough to make me feel sick. I phoned my Dr. who is away this week and saw the on-call. I explained that last year my glyburide (5mg 3xdaily) had been exchanged for gluconorm ( 12x 2mg daily). I take several other meds as well. I was taken off the glyburide again and put back on gluconorm. It appears to be working but won't know until 24 hours whether its helping. I am feeling a bit better. I have booked off sick so I can get some rest. When the blood sugars get so high I have little motivation to do anything even work. I seek your prayers.
