Well it's pretty much like a pump infusion set if you're familiar with pumps.  You insert it and it continuously reads your blood sugar all day.  It sends the readings to a hand held device (meter).  I believe you have to change it like you would an infusion set - about every 3 days.  My doctor discussed this with me for when I eventually get a new pump that this technology was out there and available. I know MiniMed has this set up with one of their pumps.  I think it's great to have continuous monitoring but I could do without the other insertion.  One for my pump is enough for me.  I'll stick to my traditional finger pricks.
